Colorado here I come

Post by groundpounder »

Heading out in the morning to Colorado for the elk rifle hunt. Hopefully pictures will come to follow. I will be back in town on the 27th so no forum or quiver mount sales until I get back in town. Happy hunting everyone. Todd.

Groundpounder,

What rifle are you using?

I'm using a Browning Bar with the Boss system chambered in 30-06 shooting a Barnes X 180 grain bullet. It is plenty enough despite what alot of people say about the 30-06 on elk. I also have a Browning A-bolt chambered in .300 WIN MAG that I'll be taking as a spare in case anything happens to the Bar. I just prefer the handling and accuracy of the Bar for me and thats why its my first choice.

Well Groundpounder, its kind of like this.

When someone says, "You can't kill an elk with that!" I tell them......

Go to the Horse sale this weekend and buy the biggest and most expensive horse you can find. I will put a round behind his shoulder and if it does not kill him, I will give you $50,000.00

No one has ever taken me up on that.

The 30-06 is JUST FINE.

Todd . . .maybe you should just use Tang's revolver.

I'll bet the 30.06 does the job. Bring back meat and pictures.
