"Bossy" Must Die!

Post by BigTiny »

I never thought I'd be one of those guys to name deer, but there's an old doe here that sort of runs the herd, so I call her Bossy. Bossy has busted me twice this year and is the only deer who has ever busted me. Well, last night I was watching a spot behind my neighbor's garden when Bossy came out for a snack. She stood there for a while in range, but just a little too far right to shoot, when I noticed her begin staring off to my left and stomping her foot. When I looked over there I could just make out the flickering tail of another deer thru the brush(the head was behind a tree and another thick bush). I thought for sure they were going to start feeding and I would get my first deer with the xbow, things were looking up. But instead of welcoming her fellow deer to the party, she started huffing and stomping, and eventually lowered her head and charged the other deer. The other deer ran away like a shot and jumped the fence in the back, with Bossy giving pursuit. That was when I noticed the antlers:shock: , at least 8 points with long times and WWWIIIDDDEEE. I didn't know a doe could run off a large buck like that. Anyway, for that infraction, Bossy must die.

Take her out, BigTiny.

If she lives where you hunt, and you don't kill her, that won't be the last chance she "blows" for you!

I take it by your response that you misunderstood something, Tye? :D

Around here, when a deer is spooked and repeatedly sounds the alarm, we say that deer is "blowing" ... and of course, we've all heard of "blown" chances, haven't we?

Since BigTiny related that a big boss doe had ruined a chance for him, I was saying that if he didn't take her out, that wouldn't be the last time.

That should hardly justify the "shocked" emoticon.

Just what were you thinking?

Let Bossy live. . .find out where she is grazing and set up somewhere else! 8)

Too much gradification in killing her. Go ahead, take her out and have a BBQ. :D
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

you will be sorry if you kill her,,,,she will bring you good luck--------like a big buck,, she is just playing hard to get,, she wont run off a big old stud, she will select the one who breeds her & he will be a trophy.
you know those little paper things your wife throws in the dryer makes your clothe smell good put one in your pocket then get back in your stand

bet she wont smell you,,,,,,,,hatchet jack

Bossy has lived another day. I didn't see any deer tonight. I did see a red fox, which is unusual. There's not many around here and the ones we have usually see you first. At least I know my setup is tight.

Tomorrow is another day, and Bossy's are numbered.

Disn't you know? Deer can be dykes too. I feel for you, one shuch parked under my stand (just out of range) last night. Her nervous antics prevented deer from coming down that trail. She stayed there until closing. Even blew as I left.

Bossy is now in family-sized portions in my cooler. I'll post pics when my camera recharges. Turns out revenge is a dish best served wrapped in bacon!
