This morning's doe...

Post by TPM »

Been a very slow week of shotgun season up until this morning. We were hardly seeing deer at ANY distance which is unusual. Finally this morning at 7:40 I had two does walk out right in front of my ground blind. I used a Renzo decoy again this year after success with it last year. Both does trotted right for the decoy once they spotted it. I nailed the lead one at 15 yards and she dropped in her tracks. To my suprise the second doe, who was only about 10 feet behind the first one, just stood there! After a few seconds she calmly trotted off to the treeline and just walked off into the bush. Could have easily taken the second one too but didn't want to use our other tag just yet.
