Tree stands

Post by Cossack »

Be careful out there. Several tales of guys getting hurt locally. A friend fell from his permanent stand (fell asleep). No harness, natch. He's OK but badly bruised inside and out. While he was in getting CT scan, two more guys were in surgery. Another was killed hereabouts falling from stand when strap broke. I've heard figures that 1 in 3 users get hurt in some manner when using tree stands. Including your truly, when the ladder stand I was taking down blew over in a strong wind. On the bright side, the bum shoulder DOES enable my use of the Vortex. Since the other one was already bad (compliments of football) it may have been a case of too much of a 'good' thing. LOL.

Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving.
