Post by DropTine »

I can't take it anymore, everyone saying how good Boo Strings are, i gotta have one. Hows the stretch on them, how many times will i have to shoot it before it stops to stretch. Matt I put a Boo string on my bow, shot it a little bit, adjusted the brace height, let it sit over night, and it was pretty close in the morning so I gave it a twist or two and it never moved after that.

I had Excal FFF string's that stretched for DAYS!

As for getting one...PM him, he's under BOO on the forum. :) He's from Canada so YES he ships to Canada! lol

He's also a really great guy and makes the best strings I've ever used! I highly recommend you try one out yourself!

What else can I say that Tye didn't, but he likes pink strings  Well, he(Boo/Don) may ask you where you prefer your favorite bracehight, he can set up your new sring so that it settles into you prefered sweetspot right off the bat. You will need to choose your string material, number of strands and bundles, colour preferences and serving options. Speaking of options, I suggest you don't overlook the whisker option on the checklist. It certainly silences our Excals well without performance loss.

I got one recently. Put it on and it was already the right length. Shot several times over the period of a few days and it finally stretched enough the brace height dropped the width of the center serving. Gave it a couple twists and haven't had to touch it since (2-3 weeks of hunting with a shot every day to unload + a few "sight check" shots.)
I would also add, the serving still looks practically new! Very slight dent from the claws you have to look closely to see, and no visible wear.

With the first shot from my Phoenix, I noticed an amazing difference in the vibration and sound.

Best possible upgrade. You won't regret it.

The quality of his work is top notch.

Okay, another new guy asking a question...what are Boo string's and how does one get them. Second does anyone have advice when it comes to proper brace height, what is the proper brace height for an Equinox? I am new to this and haven't a clue, just been guessing. Rite now I am at about 3.5 inches, which seems fine and very accurate. :?

A Boo string is a string made by a member here named Boo.. Awesome stuff.

I am thinking you are measuring your brace height from your limbs, you want to do it from where your riser hits the rail. I keep mine at 1 1/8" from the rail. a good compromise between speed and noise/vibration. The closer to the limbs your string rests the faster your arrow will travel, at the cost of noise and wear.

I twisted my Boo string a half twist the day after it was on my bow, I have well over 200 shots on it and it hasn't moved. The serving (original) looks like it was put on yesterday and the cat whiskers are performing perfectly.

Thanks Pydpiper, you knew exactly how I was measuring. Thanks for the visual too. I think I am about right as to the brace height.\, mayve abut a 1/4" too high. Thanks again!!!

Your welcome, I keep that picture around for times like this. :D
Personally, as a rule of thumb I like my string one string width from the etched line closest to me, Boo knew this when that string was made for my bow. That way I am insured consistency with my arrow speed, ultimately, accuracy.
