Yepper, I have not seen a deer in 2 weeks. I hunt in Pa. Seems it gets harder every year. Used to be able to see many deer after rifle season, now I see more road kills then I see in the woods.

Happy new year!!!!

I know exactly how you feel..I hunt a property that is absolutely teeming with deer...after dark...lol

Our group of 9 harvested 3 during the controlled hunt (they called my deer "The Greyhound")...not very good #'s for 9 guys...good thing 2 deer were good size.

Since Nov 8th..I had not seen a single deer...I had this week off so I have been out 5 times since last Saturday....Day before yestrday I stumbled on some fresh tracks and followed them for 5hrs before I spooked up a buck and 2 does...I noticed the direction they were headed....took a roundabout way back to my truck....opened up all my clothes and re-applied the "anti-scent" spray...and started walking to where I figured the deer would be headed to eat...it was about 1530hrs.....

Well..I didn't make it....I was about 100yds from the office when the doe stepped out of the cedars and stared at me...I was in full snow camo...but she was fixed on me...looking at where I was ..I recognized the tree where we sighted in the turkey guns this spring...it was 40 yds...and she was 10 or 15 behind that.....and on high alert....so I did the smart thing and just crouched down...at least I can say now that we Do have deer on the property...for a while there I thought it was "Fork Horn" with deer feet strapped to his legs messin with my head!!

Keep your chin up.....we still have another day

Similiar feelings here. I cant tell you how many tracks are in the field i hunt. But yet its been three weeks without seeing a deer. My bait pile is being hit HUGE especially after all the snow the problem is the deer are not bedding were they used to i guess they have moved into the thicker stuff were snow is to the minimum. By the time they get to the fields edge its already well into the night..... I tried to get close to there bedding so that i can intercept them before dark but i cant figure out where the hell their bedding now!! :x  :o

Around here, once the snow hits the ground they seem to move into the areas with heavy cedar. We hunt a property just like that and in the early season we often don't see a thing but once there is snow, they are everywhere. I sometimes go for a walk in the winter and it is not uncommon to see about 30 deer in less then 2 hours.

They don't run away as much either, they just stand on the trail and stare at you as you're walking. Ms. Santa brought me a trail camera for christmas and I'm going to set it up there on New Years day. This is the same property where I took the 12 point buck on Boxing Day. If you have access to an area like that, check it out. Good Luck.

We saw 12 deer off the 401 between Windsor and Chatham in the middle of the day(1pm-2pm) on Thursday. All were out in the open eating. Cut down corn fields and winter wheat fields. I went to take down my stands (area 93) and there were tracks everywhere. Thusday night we drank our faces off and slept in. I walked out at 9am to take my last stand down and kicked up a doe that was walking right toward my stand. One of my hunting partners was up for 2 days and said he saw deer every time out but nothing close enough to shoot. Generally at this time of year I see nothing or a bunch of them together.

Was out this afternoon and seen 26 does and bucks all herded up, i think some bucks lost there head gear because either i saw a 200 pound doe or it was a buck about 60yds away, this was right at last light walking back to my truck. Going back out in the morning and hopefully stick one.

Don't feel bad Xbowkid. I'm in the same boat. I see deer under my feeder when I walk in but they won't return to the feeder in the daylight. They won't budge out of their bedding area until dark. I had my shot the first time out (Oct 1) and I overshot ....... never dreamed it would be this hard! :(
If you're not part of the solution, you might be part of the problem.
