Father Son tag team kill
my dad finally came out to do a little hunting with the hunt club for once this year. We were using dogs here since its still legal and it adds a little mix up to things since sitting in a stand 24/7 gets old after a few months for me LOL.
anyhow, ill skip to the details. I was in a cutover up a stand waiting and looking since dogs were running all around. I looked out and about 75 yards out I saw a decent buck beddown beside a oak tree and some tall grass. Then here comes a dog running a doe right by him and he never moved a inch! I called my dad and he came down the trail and circled around where I saw the buck bed and started walking back to me hoping the buck would spook and run towards me. We he got to the spot and the deer didnt get. Thern wham, about 7yards from him the buck rolls up and he fires one shot dropping the buck but he gets up again and slowly makes his way towards me. I assisted with a shot so in a way we both bagged a buck together which was pretty cool. Its not the biggest deer in the whole world and had I been ML'ing or bowhunting I wouldnt have taken this buck. But with dogs and the area we were hunting it was a shooter. He's a mainframe 8, scorable 7, but only 16inches wide. But the memory of the hunt means more than anything...
espically since it was the last day of 07
here are a few pics.. he's by far no giant but a good buck for a little old fashioned man drive type hunt I told me dad, that we need to put a collar on him and get him barking good so we wont need dogs anymore

My son just started hunting with me again this year after a 14 year break. The father/son hunts are always much more enjoyable.
