I'm like Woody , STUCK IN THE MIDDLE . WMA's within 10 to 15 miles but overhunted. So I have to drive 45 mins. to decent hunting area. With gas prices as they are it's hard on the pockets .
But neither rain nor snow or camel jockey priced gas will stop me from watching the sun come up from high in a pine tree . HUNT ON DUDES !
Love your neighbor, but keep your guns oiled.

I'm confused...

I spent the first 28 years of my life living in a small town at the northeast corner of the state in the anthracite coal region. They called us "coal crackers"

I spent the next 20 years of my life living in a small town along the Allegheny ridge. They call us "ridge runners"

I've spent the last 3 years existing (notice I didn't ssay living) in the suburbs of the state capitol, an area commnly referred to by ridge runners and coal crackers as the flatlands. (Flatlanders are greenhorns)

So now I'm a coal crackin ridge runner stuck in the flatlands. Help!!

Born and raised in the country, but now live with my wife and two boys in Saskatoon, Yuuuuck!!!!!

But, but.......... we do have about 810 acres of prime habitat with a 5 th Wheel trailer sitting on it. Our property is also at the end, of a dead end road, which backs about 77,000 acres of public land, which thankfully is not over hunted, yet.

Only way in now is on snowmobile, our road has 5 foot drifts of snow covering it, come on spring.

The economy here, is on a huge boom, with no end in site, 10 more years and were out of here, hopefully building a cottage or cabin on our property.

Live OUT. Small town 7 miles away. Ten acres, nothing around me less than that size. No neighbors to the west, just a lake with only two houses on it, one of them is mine. 100 yard rifle range with 50 and 100 yard benches out back. Neighbors used to my shooting some 16 different cartridges I load. 50 yard bow range off my deck. Ple barn for toys, shop I built to 'putz' in with my tools. Cross country ski trails starting at my back door spanning some 5 miles over land I have access to. Could no longer live in town; until perhaps when it's time to go to the "home."
Retired 2 years ago, enjoying immensely every day what I worked for.

the end of my driveway is 0.8 miles from the house and 4 miles from town
8.9 acres of land on a ridge backed up on the riverswamp and marsh. the nights are NOT black as there is a GE plant 2 miles away, but lots of deer and other critters so i am inbetween i guess..

 Born and raised in Euclid OH till I moved to Minnesota some 30 years ago. Now living on a lake in Central Minnesota - a sportsman's paradise. Can walk out from my house and go fishing or hunting - can't ask for anything more than that!

I live in a small tourist town near a beach. Lots of public forests near by to hunt.
