Pheonix bolt size

Post by Mailman »

When I purchased my bow, Dan Miller set it up for me with 18" gold tip. I had some 2213 xx75's and cut them down to 18". Is this ok or should they be 20 ins? I also have some 2216's and 2219's. I am goiong to get an Arizona fletcher, what kind of offset, helical, right or left and what degree? Help

18" should be fine with the Phoenix. I shoot 18" 2215s with mine and get great accuracy.

you should buy a right fletcher so when your arrows hit the target they tighten instead of loosen up,j.m.o. though anyone will work, a 4 degree helical will help spin stabilize your arrow and help with accuracy,speed........

I will second that I have the same jig 4 degrees right. I found the Loctite Superglue Gel worked great for me when I refletched my Beamans with Duravanes. It takes some pratice to get the right amount of glue on the vanes.

Mine says "aluminum,4 degrees offset".
That is what Excalibur recommend.

The one I bought is the #STO 4 degree offset (4 degree). Here is a link to their site:

I bought mine at the BHSS for $39.95. Here is the link:

I use the 4º offset model. I just see 1 offering on their website - STO4 for a 4º offset, so that must be it.
It works fine for me for use with the Phoenix. I use 2" Blazers and get great accuracy.

(edited to add:)
I should also mention I used to keep mine hanging on a nail above my workbench. Last summer I bumped it and it fell to the bench breaking the piece that holds the arms. I called Arizona to ask if I could buy a replacement part and they told me just to sent it in for repair. I mailed it to them and received a brand new tool in return. Can't beat that for customer service!!!!!!!!!!
The new one now stays in my "archery" box (an old tackle box) where it is better protected!

Went to bass pro and they have the aluminum 4 degree. It didn't say right or left. It didn't say #STO 4 degree offset (4 degree), just 4degree. Is this the one I should get?
