Thanks Craig. I knew it was a dip film process but I've never seen it. Now it's even more cool!

Has anybody used this company? What are the prices like, and do they striop off the old finish before applying the dip?

Hey Greywolf, I'm thinking of having a shotgun dipped in camo but am concerned that the camo may come off when it comes in contact with bug spray. This happens to a lot of Stoeger 2000 shotguns. Have you had any experience with this? I sent them an e-mail but haven't heard back from them yet.

Thanks and God Bless,

I hear you Ray, there is something in bug spray that eats away at the film . I would wait to hear back from Jon , He is great to deal with

I'm hoping that there is a clearcoat that can be applied to stop this reaction, if so, I'll be sending in 2 shotguns. Thanks for the info

Bug spray with deet can be particularly damaging. We used Muskol for spring trips when the blackflies are bad - Muskol will chew through anything - vinyl, varnish... I remember "sticking" to canoe gunwales and to my wooden paddles when I had the stuff on my hands.

Even the Deep Woods Off can be damaging. I have the prints of someones arm and leg hairs in the finish of my guitar. ewww! :? (I was pretty ticked since that person didn't even bother to ask to borrow it.)

I'm not sure if anything would really protect from the stronger bug sprays?
