We don't have cable and don't get to watch any of the regular hunting shows, but of the videos/dvds that we've collected over the years I enjoy Jim Shockey the most.

Shockey is the man, I also enjoy Canada in the rough, I find Drury Outdoors very informative and Closing The Distance are among my must see list.

I Like Michael Waddell's road trip show, I just like the way he keeps some good humor in his show. He is a very good hunter allso..

Mine would be "Getting Close" for the obvious reason- Tiffany. I prefer the amatuer shows mostly, less shameless plugging of products and more action.

Canada in the Rough. I also like the Newfoundland sportsmen as well. Both are real hunts no pens. I once meet A guy that sold Whitetails to the hunting shows. And they put them in pens and tell you that they are on wild hunts. Once I found that out I lost a lot of respect for those big names.

I'm with you guys about Gettin' Close. I also like Shockey, and Primos Truth About Hunting - shows that are down to earth, and openly state that they are fair chase.

I don't currently watch TV, and haven't for years, but back when I did for a period of time, my favorite hunting show was "Carolina Outdoor Journal" ... a PBS production featuring common NC folks doing common hunts in our state ... even on public land, sometimes.

I do watch DVDs sometimes (usually my brother mails them to me ... BROFLIX) ... and I kind of like those Primos boys too.

Used to like Dan Fitzgerald ... haven't seen him for years.

Griz,

I use to watch Dan F. also, his older shows were great, now it's him and his son Guy pushing products for 25 minutes with 5 minutes of hunting.

Too bad. I used to think he was one of the more "common" hunters on TV.
