had to modifiy my crossbow mount

Post by Crockett&boon »

well today started mounting my scope (lumizone) and i need to move the frount mount back one slot from the end slot and the scope hit the bracket
couldn't mount it as far back in the rings as i needed so the scope would be dead on when i bring the scope up so i didn't need to move my head to put the scope in full view so long story short i had to take the base off and put in on a grinder and cut the frount down so i could slide the scope back far enuff has anyone else had to do this? i think it will work and shouldn't effect the shooting of it

You must have gotten one of the older model bases. Excal makes one that is shorter so you don't have to cut it. Call them re same.

No effect at all. I fact I done the same, and in addition, ground material away and swiss cheesed (drilled holes with the drill press) to lighten my rings and bases. All is fine, I might add. I've done that to 5 Excaliburs I have owned.
