New "Bolt Sonic" broadhead

Post by Sopchoppy »

The latest issue of Crossbow Connection (Page 33) has an article on this broadhead made for crossbows. It makes some pretty lofty claims like "entending your crossbow knock down power past 40 yards!" It's a 150 grain broadhead that produced 3" groups at 40yds at +350fps. What do you long time crossbow hunters think about this?

I saw no indication of the width of cut. That I would like to know.

I think they are pretty tiny

I have some of there older 100grain ones. I'll admit they fly VERY WELL, and are remarkably sturdy. but as you and I have spoke about many times, we are both fans of LARGE cutting diameters. that is one think this head DOES NOT have.

I believe my 100Grain head is 1" Maybe just over 1"

One of my favorite fixed blade heads, but now that I have met Rocket Stricknines, I haven't looked back.

Diesel,

I just thought the same thing, 3" inch groups at 40 yards and I'm tossing them broadheads in the junk drawer. I've tested a few broadheads and found my 3 best fliers to be in order: Rage 2-blade, WASP Boss 3-blade, and Muzzy 4-blade (all 100 grains), haven't shoot the Slicks yet. If i'm not grouping all bolts in my quiver under 1.5" at 40 I'm not satisfied.
