Toronto Sportsmen Show

Post by HW »

Just wondering if any forum members will be attending the show and if so what day. I will be making my annual trip with my son which now makes it our eigth show. Its a great place to kill one of those March Break days as it has so much for the kids to do.

If I go down it will be spur of the moment and will probably take in Bass pro as well .For they normally have sales on as well during the sportsman show.As a kid we use to make the annual pilgrimage to THE SHOW but through the years it turned into the pots ,pans and blanket show .Last time I went to compete in a indoor 3-D shoot, there was absolutely nothing to see but rock climbing and the dog trials. But I have been told they are trying to make it like it used to be.

I'll be there with my dad, we have been going as long as I remember, along with the hunting show, when it was around.

We are planning on going . Bought my Excalibur bow there a couple of years ago. There are many outfitters there for caribou hunts etc. The one that got our interest more was the group from the East side of James Bay. I think they were Cree indians. Very nice people to talk with. Havent made it on any of the hunts. Can't blame me for trying. :)

We'll be going, probably on opening day. We'll be "working" at the Weimaraner Association of Canada booth.

Growing up, My father and I used to head to the show every year. But like Doe Master was saying it lost it's outdoor appeal.

  It runs from March 12-16th and it is no longer the Yuppie Show as they now have a Hunting Hall with guns, outfitters etc as well as a Fishing Hall! Each year it is getting more and more like it used to be..a Sportsman Show for us hunters & fisherpersons! I will most likely be going the Saturday as my wife and I are headed to Central America on the 17th so i'l have to do last minute packing etc on the 16th! 8)
If I can't hunt & fish in heaven....then I don't want to go!!!!!!!!!!

Don't think it will ever be like it used to be (late 60s, early 70s). As a kid attending with my dad, it was like going to another world. It truly was a hunting and fishing extravaganza.

  You'd be surprised.....I quit going in the 90's when it became the Yuppie Show but the last few years i've been attending and it is gettign better every year..much like the 60's & 70''s! Yes it still has the Yuppie factor but you can stay away from that area and focus on the hunting and fishing halls! Brampton Mike 8)
