What I got up with today. ( Coyote )

Post by diesel »

My wife called me to the window this morning. What did I see laying less than 20 yrds. from my house ? Looked at this thing more than 20 minutes and then tried to shot it but with the neighbors house I could not get a shot off.
Sorry for the poor quality photos but they were taken through a window and a screen.

Way to close to the house. I only own three acres here and most of the people around me own less than that.

I have replaced all my home window screens with "shoot through mesh" for just such emergencies.. :D

I am kidding of course..

Sure doesn't look like a yote to me. Sure it wasn't a bush-dog?

I'm very sure this was a Yote and had no collar. There is lots of food for them in Ohio so they can get big ( 35 to 45 lbs. )
My neighbor had called me about a week ago and told me he saw one headed my way . Other neighbors have seen them in the past as well. This is the first time I've seen one here.
My wife has a small dog Prissy ( name ) she weighs 5 lbs max. Prissy likes to chase the rabbits that come into the yard. The only time Prissy barks is if there is a rabbit , Deer , cat , or dog in the yard. I guess we will have to add Coyote to that list now.
We will have to take care and not let Prissy out to chase the rabbits do to the yote.
