hard case?

Post by M&M »

any news on a hard case yet I know this topic has been beat to death by many including myself, but I'm just sayin many of us are still wanting one and I don't want to break my bow down to fit it into a rifle case. It seems that a while back there was some talk of excal. making one but something fell through on the deal I would think with as much interest as has been shown for one in the past that they would git-r-done. I would love a hard case but I think it would take up the whole back of my jeep.
It would be nice to case it in states where cased transport is required instead of breaking it down.

none of the Excal models will fit in it. they are too wide.

I give up on it, I thied to build one once with Frisky's help, out of thin plywood with hinges, handle and such, but it still ended up a large obstacle and hard to haul or store.

I purchased the flambeau stingray , but had to mod. it to make it work. My phoenix limbs stuck out about an inch and a half on both sides. I cut out the area where the limbs penatrated and installed a piece of 2 1/2 pvc pipe that i later split so the case can open and close. I snip and made flanges and screwed the pipe to the case. With a little amount of plastic weld I sealed up and supported the pipe. I then took a 2 1/2" pipe cap to put on the end of each to help keep it close and protected from the elements of the outdoors. Untill excal. makes a hard case, It does the job for now.

That's a darn good idea :D Maybe if enough of us contact Flambeau and request they make their case wide enough for recurve CB's they will make one to fit. I'm sure that Excal and 10 Point get thier hard cases from Flambeau

I had to come up with something because of the adventure I must take to hunt in south louisiana. If I'm not strapping it to the rear rack of my four wheeler going though rough terrain and swamp for a half hour to an hour ride or going in my boat down the bayou then though the woods, my girl ( Ms. Phoenix ) would look pretty rough. I had to come up with something so when the moment came to harvest, I knew she was ready also.
