Bad News / Rack Stolen

Post by saxman »

I decided to mout my 9 point europeian style.
Got a call from my taxidermist, his building was broken into while he was at work and my rack was stolen :( :( :( .Oh well,I have the pictures and the memories but I'm pretty upset. The building was locked but if they want in they are getting in.I will mount my Alabama 4 point instead and show my trust in my friend by letting him do that one also,he feels bad.
Who would do this to another sportsman.
I refuse to let it ruin my day or taint my feelings about other hunters.
:D :D :D :D
I can't controll this situation but I can controll how I handel it and keep my LIFE FORCE intact.
I learned this from a wise man who set me straight today, just what the doctor ordered. Thanks My Brother

That really sucks. I don't understand why anyone would want another persons rack? To me they are just antlers but my rack is special because I am the one who harvested it. It has special memories for me. Even if I had the Hansen buck here at my house it would not be special to me like a rack I took myself.

Did your taxidermist have insurance? I hope at least he will give you a free mount now. I am really sorry to hear about this Scott, I guess you're going to have to get a bigger one now to replace it.

Good Luck this fall.

He is not insured,he is an old friend whos business has struggled the past couple years and I always root for the underdog, fight for those who are unable to.He asked me if I would let him do it and I said yes.I will pay him for the stolen one and the new one to help my brother out and keep him in business. My wife makes fun of me about making friends for life even when they dont seem to be the kind of people she thinks I would like
(high end musicians and entretainers) I grew up country, with country folk who shook your hand and meant it,when they said they would help, they did. After my transplant I spent a month at my parents house because they live 3/4 mile from mayo,I had to be there twice a day.when I got home my lawn was cut my pantry full my garage cleaned and most of my bills taken care of.These are people that I call friend and you poeple are right in there with them.I make friends easy and require no particular type of person,I can find good in you and to the best of my abliity will always be there for you, with a kind word,a smack in the head or stand shoulder to shoulder with you against overwhelming odds.I try to be a true friend. My friend needs me and I will help him.as i have been helped

That is really bad when someone would be that low to steal a person's trophy. Watch ebay it might get listed there. Sorry you lost your trophy Saxman.

Scott, that was a crappy thing to happen to a decent person like yourself. We all know you are a very decent person and you've surrounded yourself with good people that care. I don't think you needed the adjustment. Keep up the good work and if you see St Peter before me, put in a good word for me!

Sorry man that is a bummer. I do my own with just the skull cap and horns, then covert with leather. But the real trophy is in my mind. I've even given some away that a fiend wanted for decor but I see every detail of the hunt in my mind's eye.

That sucks , Sax. Thats something that can't be replaced. I sent in two deer hides to the tannery, and they went belly up, will I ever see them, not likely.

Seems locks only stop honest folks!

Anytime anything may be "harvested" by thieves.

Too bad they got a valuable item of yours!

Heres hoping you get a better trophy to mount next time!
