Can anyone tell me if you still need a grappler behind this broadhead?

Nope.

I almost bought those, but I like the Innerloc's better than Spitfires.

I can lock the blades open and whack a turkey like that if I want.

Tye, the point is not sharp, it is bullet point, rounded and conical. I don't think you can compare these to a deer broadhead. They are also supposed to open faster.

Yeah I know the point is round to help prevent a pass through. No grappler needed.

I use the Gobbler Getters and I will have the Zwiockey Scorpio backing it up.

Bluntpoint or not, as much KE as we generate we can still get pass throughs..

Maybe this is a dumb question but here goes, why do you not want a passthru on a turkey? #2 what is wrong with using the same broad head for turkey that you use for deer? I have always used the exact same setup for turkey as deer and have had no problems in recovering the bird and have only lost one arrow but that was due too a miss.
Please if I am missing something fill me in.

I've killed birds that had pass throughs, but most required a bit of tracking. Turkeys are tough to track as they dont seem to bleed as well as deer. Plus they fly.

Keeping an arrow in them lessens their ability to run or fly.

IMHO....

Also if you do not get a pass-through it means all the arrow energy was dumped into the bird which means it gives the bird a good thump on impact. That shock will allow you to get to the bird before it can get up and run or fly if it is alive at all.

Ah I see, I guess I have been lucky then as I have not had a bird get much more than 50 yrds after the shot and most have been less than 30yrds, and have broken one or both wings.

A turkey will sometimes be moved off its feet on impact when using grapplers. Looks like it hurts! If you put a grappler on your arrows you find the birds a lot closer than 50 yards.

Is this the same thing you all are calling "Grappler"?
