Just got in from wifes firearm course.

Post by Pydpiper »

I usually log in here no less than 5 times a day, post my typical drivel and move on.
This weekend my wife went for her firearm course, 2 days of our wonderful Ontario governments regulations followed by a written test, then a hands on examination by a firearms instructor.
As I mention earlier I was asked to assist in the all womens course with the handling of the guns and other no brainier tasks. It turned out to be a great weekend for us, and I am happy to report that my wife walked away with 100% on her written exam, and 100% on her hands on exam. :D I asked her to do this because of the guns that come and go from my home on a daily basis due to my latest addiction, she went with a bit of apprehension but by the end of the weekend she was all smiles and also signed up for a hunting course in a couple weeks as well as the restricted course (handguns) in a month or so. Needless to say I am a pretty proud guy right now :D .
Our son, 5 years old is a daily shooter, he has his own rifle and has now had his horizons expanded, here at home as well as the gun club my family belongs to. Needless to say my wife is far more responsible than I am, so this is a monumental moment for our entire household.
I just wanted to publicly commend her on taking this step for all of us, as far as having other people in the world with the responsibility of firearm ownership she will be an asset to our cause.

There was a draw at the end of the course, I won a Otis cleaning kit for my .17 and .22, she had pick of the table, she chose a new hard case. :D Keeps telling me she is going to paint it pink to keep me away from it, doesn't bother me too much because I know eventually she will want it filled. :D

Congrats. Now you can spend more time with the wife hunting and at the gun club. That's awesome.

Congrats to Mrs. Pydpiper! :D

My wife is a CCP holder ... she's had a concealed carry license for 11 years. Her qualifying group was better than mine by 1/4" ... must have been a wind gust!

Help me understand:

Do y'all have to have a permit just to own ANY firearm?
