I don't know that much about bears, but is that about average size? The ears on the bear in the first 2 pics look a little bit more on the top of the head, but that last one in the dark looks like a nice one. Unless it is just the way the pics look to me. Either way they look like some nice healthy animals, a lot better than our trail cam last year with 4 pics of 2 legged bears filling up the bait, ha ha.

A pair of leather gloves and some good running shoes, I could take him.

When I first saw the topic, I thougt you were talking about big black rat SNAKES. We have them here. They're on the endangered list so you just have to say shoo snakes shoo! They can be up to 8 feet long and are a constrictor. Quite common in Frontenac Provincial Park. ( About an hour north of Kingston, Ont.)

Yea I think 00buck says shoo best  Not a fan of snakes even the word snake gives me the willies. Who ever said black rat snakes are not aggressive should have been with me 10 years ago this spring as I was surrounded by 10-15 VERY angry individuals while looking for sheds. I thought I was a gonner as a half dozen of them came towards me and coiled and hissing. At first I turned white then whiter followed by blue then finally yellow as I ran screeming, I don't think my feet even touched the ground for 45 yards. To this day I have not been back to that area other than winter when they are hibernating.

We have 3 common venomous snakes here. Water mocs, usually only in ponds, creeks, ect. but can be very aggressive about August. Copperheads which are everywhere, and rattle snakes, two or three types, I've yet to come across one of the rattlers. All three are supposedly protected here. I warn them off w/ .357 and CCI shot shells at about 10 yds. They seem to take the warnings well, never see the same ones again, lol. When I'm in back, I generally carry the .357 on atv w/ alternating loads of snake shot, errrr warning loads and 180 gr jhp mags for possible bear warnings, lol. let's face the truth. Snakes have snake sex and the end result is more snakes. A properly warned snake is not likely to have more snakes. I DO NOT indiscriminately warn snakes. I only warn the ones that can hurt me or my dogs.
