REAR SIGHT CHOICES

Post by Jim C »

If you like using "iron" sights on the excalibur here is an option that might be nicer than the basic rear sight that comes with your bow. Buy the scope mount and then get one of the easily available sights that are designed to fit on a "flat top" AR 15 or M-16 rifle. I bought one from M&A Parts in Illinois (a source for high quality barrels and upper receiver units for the AR 15) that features 4 different sized aperture holes. It cost me about 60 dollars. Some of these are able to fold down for transportation or to protect them against being knocked around. Some have elevation adjustments on them as well (like the current issue sight on the M-16 rifles). I put one on my APEX and it works very well.

That's a good tip, Jim. :D

Sometimes I grow weary of the scope's bulkiness on my Excal. Since I like things as streamlined as possible, I'm always interested in anything that slims the profile of a crossbow. Don't know that I'll switch, but it's good to think about, anyway!
