Quadruple bearded gobbler

Post by Rich »

A friend of a friend shot this turkey in VA, pretty rare to see 4 beards, the largest being 11 inches. Said it had 1.5 inch spur to go along with the beards. No weight listed.

I read somewhere on the internet the other night of a bird with 11 beards, but I haven't been able to find the dang link again. :(

That is neet for sure. The best I have killed is a 3 beard and I also took a heavy double beard this spring in Ontario.

Congrats to the hunter...

I had the opposite 2 weeks ago. Had a huge gobbler with zero beard. Nothing not 1 hair. Here the law is bearded only so even though he had a red head and 1"+ spurs he wasn't a legal bird.

No beard, interesting. Survival technique? I mounted the horns of a doe that was shot by a friend. They were polished but the left side had two beams from the same base. He was hunting bucks only zone and it is legal even tho he didn't know it was a doe when he shot.
