Other times, things just work out.

It was 4 year old daughters first trip turkey hunting, the other two went with mom to the churches annual spaghetti dinner.
Pouring rain, we packed up and left.
I set the blind up and made it as cozy as I could for her, had her favorite "Bratz girl" chair set up in one corner, me in the other.
The rain was leaking in everywhere, we didn't care, the windows were all shut and my shotgun was propped against one wall to keep the blind from blowing away. The wind was brutal, our decoys were flapping around like flags and the rain was blowing straight across the field.
We sat on the floor of the blind waiting out the wind and rain, about four, this afternoon.
Half hour later the obvious happened, "Dad, how long do we have to wait?" I too was growing tired of the weather, One hand holding the blind down to the ground the whole time. I unzipped one window a crack to take a peek, and there were two Jakes running towards the decoys, fighting the wind the whole way. I gave Hailey the nod and she hit the floor, hands covering her ears with everything she had.
Again, boom.
I toppled the blind as I racked the second round (yes. I brought my gun this time  ) and took the second, crippling shot.
One little Jake, tagged and cleaned. I needed that.

Congratulation's!! 8)
It was a good fight, and the Hunter Won!
Probably would have turned out different without the good Luck charm with you. :)

I see you unlucky Tom and one very lucky David. Congrats!

Just how big was that one one that got away? Just kidding.
