I need to visit more often !!!!!!

Post by wabi »

Last week I was doing some yard work and hit my head on a limb of our (ornamental) Clevland Pear tree. The limbs have large "spikes" on them and I cut my head bad enough to have to stop work for the day and managed to soak three compresses with blood before I got the bleeding stopped. It's been really sore & tender since. Well, just a few minutes ago I was reading and posting to a thread when I reached up and felt the bump on my head. I gave it a squeeze - and found the source of the irritation! :D
Hopefully it will heal now!
This was stuck in my scalp - (not the ruler, the thorn  )

Same thing happened to me last year while mowing. I got a thorn in the back of my neck when a branch snapped back forward. I though I had got it all, but I had a bump there for about a month. The wife checked it out and said there was something still in there. She lanced it and we got the rest.

Your right bout the bleeding. It was bad.

They are nasty.

Dad had a hawthorne thorn in his hand when rabbit hunting. A part of it got into his hand too far to dig out, his hand swelled up bad, there were a couple weeks of wondering that would happen to him. It took about a month to heal up so he could hold his gun again. The last day of rabbit season we headed back out and cut down that tree with our shotguns.

i tripped on a hedge ball & fell into a male locus tree last year ,had to go to the hospital to have a 1 inch thorn removed from my arm, couldnt pull it out had it cut out, i was actually kicking the hedge balls out of the way so i wouldnt trip on them on the way back as i was carring 2 buckets of corn to a feeder.

have a nice day hatchet jack
