I have been using a Sony mini-dv model. I just bought a 3CCD model. Not here yet but the 3CCD ones are a lot better for colors. Get as high a optical zoom as you can get, and look for low light 1-2 LUX. Firewire capability. Check the color reproduction before you buy. Reds are the hardest for a lot of cams. The one I was using did a great job I can't wait to see what the new one does. I picked up a VX2000 off fleabay. Sony is better for low light than a lot of the others.
