Kind of an odd question for a guy who lives right by the Bow Shop? Come on, just go get some.
They have the brass, the glue, everything you need.. If you need a hand I will make the trip to show you how to make a "perfect" arrow. Seriously.

Pick up a half dozen shafts and I will bring the fletching/inserts/nocks and show you how to make them. It is quite simple actually.

That's a offer I wouldn't refuse Fergie. Pydpiper is right, just head up to the Bow Shop and pick some up.

One thing to consider when getting blank shafts is that my components are for GTII's not Firebolts, I don't know if there is a difference.
The issues with the GTII's are all resolved when building your own arrows, so I would say get blank shafts from Gold Tip.
I had a PM from someone else in your area wanting to build arrows and meet us too, so there will likely be 3 of us. :D

Why?? Do you have any bad memories of our seven penitentiaries? :D I've been working at one for the last two weeks and have seen some of their "overnite guests"

One of the problems was nocks/inserts poping out at inconvienient times, I think it was a glue issue with GT, that does not exist when you make your own.
Then is was snapping shafts, pretty sure that is all carbon though, again, if the situation is right.
Then, inconsistant weights, not even a small concern to a guy with a scale, but I think all those days are over too.

I will have to pick some up. I like making them with the brass inserts.
I had a problem with some shafts being different sizes.

Thank for the info Pydpiper.

This may be something different, GT changed shaft size without warning not too long ago, threw a lot of guys off.
