Panic Mode

Post by cdup »

Barricades are out, gas station out of fuel and waiting on del., store shelves can't keep up with water or ice and the damn phone won't stop ringing! They don't know where Hurricane Gustav is heading, but majority of the models comes right over our parish(St.Mary)and both of my hunting leases. We have a mandatory evacuation for all of the coastal parishes.( which avg. around 19 miles from the coast.) The wife is packing up paperwork and my daughter and will be leaving in the next 24-36hrs. I will stay for I have a second very well paid job( HA!) I have to man the pumps for our 35 sq. mile toliet bowl which we live in. Similar to New Orleans and is kept dry by the great army corp of engineers. Time will tell here shortly, but the people of this area are taken this serious after what katrina done.

I hope the storm dies before it reaches land. In other case, good luck.

Don't go out kite surfing as this guy did.

Stay safe, Cdup!

I'm like Ray. I know all about hurricanes! As he noted, nothing like the Katrina situation has ever transpired here (and couldn't, in fact) ... but your location and geography makes you especially vulnerable.

Use your head ... don't end up dead! :D

My wife is an insurance agent, and said last night that Tropical Storm Hanna is "in our box" ... it might end up being a threat to us. Sigh.
