2008 Exomax

Post by thorman75 »

My new CB will be here tomarrow. I had a 06 Exomax but it was stolen last year. Couple of things Ive noticed was a 5 fps increase in bolt speed and the right stuff package now comes with 150gr broadheads instead of 100gr. Why the heavier heads? Can I still use the 100gr heads I have or should I avoid them. Thanks

They are fine (150 gr.), they are just to compensate for more weight forward or FOC. Your 100 gr. are also fine, as well as 125 gr. or 85 gr., your choice depending on bolt. Try to keep the FOC around 15%. The 150 gr. are there so as to keep that percentage better, instead of having to use brass inserts. Good Shooting. :)
Phoenix - 375 gr. BEE's (babyneilsons)
Micro 315 - 410 gr. Zombies/Lumenoks
Micro 355. - Punisher-Zombies/Lumenoks

I thought they stopped making the exomax in 07:) The 08 model is the equinox;)

but both models are still rated 350fps 8)

I shoot 100 grain heads out of my equinox just fine;) The 150 increases FOC and gives adart like effect. But for deer, 100 grains work fine

And the Exomax is rated at 355 fps. Not that it matters much but to me it indicated a change somewhere. Limb design, bolt weight, string?

ahh, just typed a search and saw them still listed. But I dont see the 355fps though. All the stickers on the 08 stocks say 350fps still, but they will still shoot above 350 with the right bolt and string combo

the 355 just had me puzzled since I hadnt heard about them bumping the fps rating, espically since the new equinox which is the exomax with a different stock is only rated 350

its all good though :D 8)

thor, let us know how you like the bow.. have fun shooting 8) :D

i just saw that on the site here... im just curious though how one is rated higher since they are the same exact bow lol, except one has a thumbhole stock. I know the stock doesnt add 5 fps LOL.

My equinox shoots the old stock 350grain GT2 's at 359fps with the 1989FFF string

but with the boo string and 375grain bolts im still seeing 345fps which is darn impressive
