Tried a few crossbows

Post by mchurch »

I bought my Equinox from ebay because there was no dealer anywhere near me. Up until now I had never shot another crossbow. I was sent to Nashville, Tennesse for a business trip and had a Bass Pro Shops near by. They have an indoor archery range so I shot a Desert Stryker and a Ten Point Shadow CLS. Both were nice looking crossbows and had nice triggers. I do think the DS had a better trigger. The stock of the DS seemed cheaply made. I would be worried that if I dropped it it might crack or completely break. The TP had several tooling marks on the riser. My Equinox doesn't have any of these. Both were heavier than I expected as well. I didn't shoot but held the horton recon and the stryker. That nearly caused a hernia  The type of hunting I do is lots of up and down hill where physical weight is a big deal. I wouldn't trade my equinox for any of them but they were fun to shoot.
