I have never got a deer with anything  So I guess that makes me a hunting virgin and xbow virgin. I am very positive about this season, which is my 3rd hunting and first with xbow. In the past I went out field hunting in SK only 3-4 days in total over two season. I didn't do any research, and just went along with what other people told me. This year I am on my own, and have been preparing, reading, scouting, baiting and gaining knowledge for the past 4 months solid. I am more prepared and realize why I was so unsuccessful in the past.

Come on October First :D
Take it easy.

I Am A ROOKIE..

Post by BUDFIELDS »

I am a ROOKIE to crossbow shooting. I just got my 2008 EXCALIBUR PHOENIX this past week and I have been getting it all dialed in. I have poked alot of holes in the BLOCK target in the back yard but I can't wait to get it out in the woods after some deer.

Since 1964, I have been fortunate enough to take well over 230 deer with recurve and compound bows, 93 with a muzzleloader and 1 with a Dodge truck but I am hoping to take my FIRST with a crossbow this season.

crossbow virgin ----

Post by bob-s »

Appears lots of us late bloomers here, hunting with a crossbow.

Likewise have yet to make my first xbow kill, but have lots of vertical bow kills as well as muzzle loader, black powder cartridge rifle, and regular rifle. :D :D

Just got acquainted yesterday with an orchardist looking for some mulies to be thinned out, hope to set up tree stand today. Good luck to everyone and safe hunting !!!

Bob.
