29.9 for a long time in se n.c. late 60s early early 70s maybe

i wish they'd go into price wars now that would be nice. i guess they do have some sort of price war now they try to see who can get it higher and still sell gas.

You Know that we also gave out free glasses,toys, maps and small Christmas gifts. Plus washing your windows,checking your oil,and tires.

i was watching the weather channel today and a news bit came on with a bunch of stuff and one thing was said the gas will be down to $2.79 by mid november.................bob

Hah here's a question for you oldsters... Did you ever get S&H Green Stamps? LOL When I was a kid my mom collected them and I'd spend them on stuff I wanted. She used to get so mad at me! Oh well, a mothers love is endless.

I remember that it was my job to put the stamps into the books... I think Mom still has some drinking glass we got with those stamps!

I was pumping gas when it was .19 ¢ a gal. I remember when you could get a burger, fries and a coke for .35 ¢ at McDonalds.

As of today, $3.39 is the lowest in this part of Tennessee. Saw on the news last night from Knoxville there is a station north of there at $2.93. Oil is "down" to $87 a barrel. Also saw on CNBC that the towel heads of OPEC have scheduled an "emergency" meeting to discuss cutting production to get the price jacked up again.
