Just for curiousity what is a good thing to pack for eating while in the tree that doesnt snell and fills the belly. I am thinking of spending some serious hours in the stand

Get up high enough, and you could boil a cabbage while eating limburger cheese ... it wouldn't matter. :D

Down low, I don't think it matters much either. I'm of the camp that believes you can't fool a close deer's nose, if it's downwind of you.

Remember that the scent of most foodstuffs isn't going to spook deer anyway ... in fact, some food smells might well attract them.

In that case, I'd suggest Corn Nuts soaked in vanilla extract! :D

I like peanuts and jerky.

I always pack energy bars, sorta like breakfast bars. I also bring small snack packs of tuna and crackers, Wall Mart sells them for cheap and they have tons of energy.
I open each one and repackage it with quieter wrappers before leaving.

I also take along any apples that aren't fit to eat anymore. When I get close to where I'm setting up, I'll squish them on the ground and rub my boot soles in the mush.

Man, you wouldn't believe some of the remote places in which I've found Vienna Sausage cans!

Or maybe you would! 8)

I mean way on back in there ... places that are miles and miles from even a dirt road.

It's incredible the way Vienna Sausages get around!

I can only manage a couple of those sausages before I start to think about what they might be made of, and, well... that's the end of that. :?

Oh, c'mon, Vix!

The Hormel Company uses only the finest quality snouts, ears, lips and (insert other by-products here) in their famous Vienna Sausages.

Bon apetite!
