Got a small buck

Post by hikerman »

Got a small buck last friday.
28 yards, I was sitting on the ground with my back to a tree.
My heart was pounding so hard I could hardly breath.
WHAT A RUSH!!!

The Sun. before I had a doe walk in front of me 10 yards away.
I could hear her coming slowly past the pile of cedars I was sitting against.
Same thing I was sure she would hear my heart pounding, I could hardly breath. She offered a perfect shot but when I raised my bow she herd my jacket make a niose. Ahh. She turned right at me, I frose. She staired at me for awhile. Slowly lowered her head as to feed but I knew she was playing with me. Then would raise up very quickly, She did this five times I didn't move. Then the doe turned and went the way she came.
WHAT A RUSH!!!

thats what hunting is about;) whether its a big buck or a small one, its what makes you excited:)

congrats

ive taken plenty deer, but I always get that feeling no matter if its a doe or a buck before I shoot. But its nothing like seeing a HUGE rack coming and you know its coming to within 10-20 yards of you and that you are going to get a shot 8)

That's exactly how I hunt. Back to a tree . . .nothing much between me and the deer but fresh air. I too need a lot of that fresh air when being stared down by a nice fat deer. Got to love it! Congrats!! What broadhead did you use and how far did it run?
