Vixen
My buddy bought his wife the Vixen. Last week at the hunt camp was the first time I saw one. It shot well, but why such an ugly color? Why not a dipped camo?
He's going to spray bomb some camo patterns on it with cedar branches for patterns to break up the look. He calls it deer hide brown, I think I insulted her, but I called it puppy @#$% brown.
Even a dark forest green would be more appealing, at least to me anyway.

Don't knock it. That deerhide brown "disappears" just as easily as camo when you're out in the woods!

I don't like the looks of the brown, probably since my first Excalibur was a black Vixen.
Actually, the camo Vixen Deluxe Excal produced for a short time was a nice looking crossbow.
Wish they'd offer a camo option. Seems like it would just be a matter of putting a set of camo limbs and a camo stock (they should already have in their warehouse) with the Vixen frame.
Perhaps a special order option in the future????????

Some of you people on here just tear me up, I don't reply often, just read all the replys. I bought a Vixen as sold with the extra package minus the scope (can't use mag. scopes in Ala.) all I added was a Red Dot Scope. I haven't had the first problem with the color/loud noise or how fast it shots.
I looked at the flyer and saw what it came with liked it ..now I love it.
Some people can not be satisfied no matter how things are sold. Excalibur has a full line of crossbows of which one should fit your fancies, without having to add $50.00 because you like it this way.

I don't mind the deerhide brown, I do like the all black older models a bit more. I guess I've killed a few more deer with my newer model short stroke Vixen than all my other Excals combined.
I shoot Carbon Express shafts cut in half for a total length of 16.25, Blazers and ST 125's. 319 gr. total. F.F. string. The little darts get complete pass throughs. I think my longest shot was around 22-23 yards.
The Vixens are a good deal easier on servings.

I have two Vixens - 1 is brown and 1 is camo~!
I dont mind the brown at all....My Max and Exocet have been given some time off and my Vixens are in the batters box (for now) as I have never drawn blood with them.
Just my opinion from up here in the greys but I think Camo Vs the brown is just eye candy when it comes to the bush~!
Cheers,
Robin
