I bought boltcutter broadheads two weeks ago after having slight accuracy issues with slick tricks (its true). I found that the boltcutters flew fairly good with the new firebolts. BUT, last week I was target shooting and when i went to retrieve the bolts I noticed that i was missing a broadhead and insert from one of my bolts. I thought "thats weird, must be a fluke". But tonight the same thing happened. Now im missing two new boltcutters and inserts. The target bag stopped the bolts ok, and the bolt penetrated thru to the other side of the bag. Nothing in the bag to make me lose the broadheads, so I assume its the glue for the inserts. What glue should I use for the inserts? I've used crazy glue before on my compound arrows, but I dont know if it would harm the carbon firebolts.
I'm using gorilla glue and it's fantastic so far. I pulled mine from a tree root after the deer pass through and never even budged the insert. the root was splintered but still more restriction then a block.
I know my Block target won't pass the metal detector.

Sounds like the arrow stopped, but the insert kept travelling. Perhaps you could get a metal detector and search beyond the target?
I had similar problems when I tried carbon shafts. I finally went to using hot melt glue on the inserts, and using a "bore brush" and acetone to clean the inside of the shaft before I glue in the insert. It hasn't eliminated the problem, but it reduced it quite a bit.
My son just picked through an old foam (14" cube target from Cabela's) target I've used for a few years and recovered 2 G-5 SGH points and inserets for me this week.
That's way I have a fence behind my target. I've done that too.
I use Gorilla Glue too. Beware, after using Gorilla, the inserts never come out again, never. So, if you want to save an insert after breaking an arrow, forget it. At least, I can't get them out . . .tried everything.

the glue is probably weak and they are pulling out or getting loose when you remove them from the target. Then more than likely on the next shot the arrow stops but the insert flies out on the stop...
either that or its pulling out into the target..
