My Controlled hunt this far PICS

Post by DropTine »

It has been HOT to say the least but hunting has been slow. My dad shot a 5 1/2 year old doe, huge, opening afternoon, sorry no pics, I wasnt there and it was brought straight to the butcher. Then yesterday I took the day off school and hunted all day, seen a buck chasing a doe and thats it, one of our hunters shot at a little 6 pt buck but missed. Today I shot down after school and went to my stand and found my dad in it! I said that he can stay no problem but he incisted on moving, ha ha, bad choice on his part! About 5 mins after he left, I shot the same little 6 pt that our other hunter missed. Left the camera at home so no pics of the deer, we brought it straight to the butcher due to the heat. We cut the rack off so here are some pics. I dont know if this is an acceptable pic for the deer contest but if it is, I think 22 points for the Widowmakers because its a buck with a 12 1/2" spread, 6 points and shot with a shotgun. Also, we found this beautiful 10pt rack and skull in perfect condition and want to mount it, what do we exactly have to do, dip it in bleach or something?

Thanks,

Matt

Congrats on the 6pt droptine, too bad you hadn't found that 10pt when he was still walking around last year.

If you want to bleach the rack make sure you wrap what ever you don't want white with plastic wrap. Bleach does a good job at turning everything white. May just want to leave it out in the sun to get more natural look.
