1st time shotgun'n
After 3 years of bowhunting I decided to try out shotgun hunting for the first time. My wife and i just had a new addition to the family this week so I knew my time in the woods was limited. I had a chance to slip out for an hour or two tonight, even though I did not like my odds with all the warm weather we have had lately and all the hunting pressure. Around 5:00 I noticed a group of 8 does way behind my stand and walking away from me, so I lured the pack to me with a fawn in distress call. I also layed out a pumpkin 30 yards out before sitting, ( learned deer like pumpkins from this forum!!)and this one fat doe was doing the ole head bob triing to figure out what it was. she got just about to it when I pulled the trigger. Boy it sure is nice not having to track!! She dropped right on the spot! If I can I will try to post some pictures.
