This doe has got to go!

Post by sumner4991 »

Same doe has busted me three times in a row! She spotted me through the brush this morning from 20 yards. That just isn't right. I have moved my location every time. Gotten into thicker and thicker cover.

I think I'm ready for this bad nanny. However, I thought that this morning too. I don't think this doe is colored blind at all. I was down wind . . .everything seemed perfect. She was four steps from my shooting lane, turned at me and said "I SEE YOU!" . . .Witch ran off and took the rest of the group with her.

I may have to dig a hole. I'm in the swamp . . .no trees, I would actually get in a tree to get this one. :)

Good luck Sumner! Those old does are wiley and wary.... Harder to fool than some bucks.

I've been told that a mature doe can be one of the hardest deer to kill
Good luck Scott

First time she busted me, I would have been more than happy to let her pass. Now, it's gotten to a point where if I can't get her, then I'm not going to get anything. I'll need to move to a new location altogether.

So, it's her or me . . .one of us has to go. 8)

I had one like that last year. She ran off a very large buck. She was delicious.

I thought about you this morning . . .I remembered.

This doe is running off everything. She sees me instantly and leaves. No fooling around, no stomping, no eye popping . . .just see, snort and leave. She doesn't even look all that old . . .maybe 3 years, 4 at the tops. Never seen one this human savy before. She is a city girl. 8)

I had a doe like that last year and I went deerless! Finally I realized I had to totally change where and when I sit in my stands. She would actually seek me out in order to bust me. Most deer move seem to follow some sort of trail....not her.... she'd move up and across that wind for hours and as soon as the wind swirled or stopped she'd have me. Frustrating!

It doesn't cover the eyes. You think she's "eye balling" me?

I had a 4 point buck do that to me a few years ago. He would come in from the opposite direction the deer normally travelled and check the stand to see if it was occupied. I changed locations and let another hunter have my good spot.
The guy I let use my stand told me he kept getting busted by this one 4 point buck.
