I slip in quiet as a church mouse to a blind I haven't been to in 10 days or so.
I checked it yesterday,sign everywhere.
I'm in the bling this morning,it's 29 but I'm warm with my heater going.

Just before light I smell something then it's gone.
Later I smell it big time.
No mistake,something is dead.
I get out grab my rifle and move tworads the smell.
Some Schmuck has killed a doe and left it right along the dirt road 10 feet form the double gate I usually go in unless I'm hunting that blind then I come in the back way.

They didn't take any meat but it looks like they did try to gut it and get some meat and didn't know how.

I hate that.
Had to be someone in the club,I can see where they backed up their truck and to have a key is the only way in with a truck.

I left a note at the sign in shed.
I put my number on there offering help to find, drag, gut, skin, butcher, whatever so as not to waste this resourse and to show some respect to the animals and fellow hunters.
I'm sure they will have a good laugh on me but thats alright.

Hunters get a bad enough rap but Southern hunters, redneck rotten buckteeth get the worst rep and that is what people see in their mind when they think of us.
It's a shame that there are several in my lease that fit that very description.

Good thing I'm older and my body's broke down.
10 years ago I would have handled this a different way.

OK
I feel a little better.

Grrrrr.... . I hate it when lazy-a$$ed rednecks make the rest of us proud-to-be-rednecks look bad!
Seriously though, I hope the guilty party is found and kicked out of the club. They don't deserve to call themselves hunters.

Hey Jay, I'm an American, seriously. Born in the U.S.

Was raised in Alberta and if you ask most Ontarioans they'll tell you that alone makes me a redneck.

I ride western while wearing s**tkickers and my black Stetson haaaay-aaat, I love to watch Duke of Hazzard reruns, I read Louis L'amour and Zane Grey, I love the smell of cordite & sage, we BBQ all year-round, I've driven tractors in the fields, spent countless days putting up hay in barns, I've roped farm dogs for practice with my lariat, I don't go for manicures or pedicures, I have deer pee in my fridge, broadheads on my toaster oven and moose antlers on my front lawn, a collection of bandanas I actually use, and my 3 yr old sings along to the Road Hammers blaring in my wish-I-had-a-truck minivan....

Alan Jackson song, "It's Alright to be a Redneck"

Great concert last Friday in Toronto by the way. Had ROW 5 floors. My wife got to feel up Alan's boot towards the end of the show.

Anyway, I digress....
