New Shotgun!

Post by TPM »

Here's a quote from a post I made in a recent thread.
Quote:
My personal favorite is an Ithica 37 in 20 gauge ... was my grandpa's ... made in 1953.

Grizz, you discovered my weakness. I LOVE the old Ithaca 37's. I still think they're the ultimate upland pumpgun. Light to carry, handle great and they have one of the slickest operating actions ever made. My dear wife told me of one in 16ga. sitting in the used rack at a local shop. I don't even want to look at it for fear it might follow me home.
Well, I got home from work today and much to my suprise was the 16ga. Ithaca sitting there with a big orange trail marker tape bow tied around it! :D :D :D It seems my dear wife went out and bought it for me today! It must have been the slight drool she saw out of the corner of my mouth every time we talked about Ithaca 37's. This one is a beaut! It's early 1950's vintage and in very good condition. Can't wait to get out and shoot this thing.

Amen!!! That's a wonderful bride you got there TPM. Enjoy your new gun. I like old guns. I have an old Stevens pump that my dad bought when he returned from his Army tour in Russia. I take it sometimes and wonder how mant deer have fallen to that old worn out barrel  . Again, Congratulations.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't have half the hunting toys I have if it wasn't for my wife.
Me neither. She bought me my Phoenix and got me into crossbows!
