GRIZZ GOES HI-SPEED

Post by Grizzly Adam »

Hey, Y'all ...

I'm on SATELLITE INTERNET! :D :D :D

Wanted you to celebrate with me!

Supposed to be 30 times faster than my old land-line hookup.

Now I can look at the Trophy Room.

Now I can run your videos.

Now I can see R.J.'s pictures.

I can do LOTS of things I couldn't before.

I can press the "PLAY" button on a Youtube video and it just plays.

Amazing.

I've gone Wild Blue!

Hallelujah! :D :D :D

Not to thread jack (congrats Grizz, as far as I'm concerned having hi-speed internet is a basic need, like food and shelter).

But regarding the BlackBerry Storms, ain't they great! I haven't put mine down in the past week and a bit. Simply an awesome device. Browsing the excal forums on the go is soooo easy!

Just got a notice from my cable company recently telling me of a price increase. High speed internet and the cable rates for TV are going up. I called and told them I may have to switch to the basic cable services for my TV. Didn't tell them, but the high speed internet and digital phone service are not going to get downgraded.
Anyway, they offered me a two year "contract" deal which saved me about $500. over two years. Unlimited high speed internet service, unlimited phone service with no long distance charges to the US and Canada, and the same standard cable package I've had for TV service years now (only about 103 channels - like I can watch more than one at a time anyway   ).

WildBlue High Speed is the provider. There are only two choices available here, and the other one is significantly more expensive.

Yes, Hughes Net is available.

It's also more expensive, and since my employer is paying 75% of the contract fee, I went with the less expensive provider.
