Fletching jig question

Post by terrym »

I use a Bitz fletching jig for my compound arrow building but now that I bought a Xbow also want to fletch the bolts also. Is there an adapter that is available alow the jig to work without a nock?

Just take a field point and glue on a traditional nock onto the pointy end.

If you decide to break away from the "great minds" and go spend the big whopping $1, yes, an adapter exists. :D

A farmer will never buy something they can build for free! :D

i don't recommend the bitzenburgur cb nock receiver. i bought one with my jig and i cant get the bolt in without butchering it which then causes the bolt to slip. i bought a rubber crossbow nock receiver on ebay that slides over the end of the bolt and is used in any regular jig. i think it's made by carbon impact

one is for sale on ebay right now for $3.90

Mine came from the Bow Shop in Kitchener. They ship everywhere I believe.

I also have a bitz and I've been using a very "special" adapter. They come in a hermetically sealed package. Also, they can be found at any discount, corner pharmacy and most grocery stores. Generally can be bought in the package at around 5 of them for 0.89 cents. They work great and will also work on crossbow bolts that don't have a threaded insert for a nock.

I can't take credit for this, it was posted on this forum some time ago.

Give up?

Simple ole timey pencil erasers. You know, the ones that you stuck on the end of your pencil after you chewed the orignal eraser off. Just cut a notch in the end, it fits very nicely in the nock receiver, and it fits very well over the end of the shaft. I'm still on my first one, so the package will probably last, well, as long as I'm probably going to be around.

Try 'em, they work great!

I'm honestly not making this up but I bought mine from the Bow Shop as well. I beleive Archers Nook in London carries them as well. TC
