Trail Camera

Post by frisky »

Santa brought me a trail cam for Christmas. I tried the SEARCH feature but no resaults. (for me) I am looking for PICTURES of steel gaurds or anti-theft devices for the camera. I know there were some posted, but at the time I was not to interested, now I am. Thanks much.

This is a real popular one.

I am going to make one out of an electrical switch box next time I bring it in. Another forum member did this I believe and it turned out good.

Here's a pic of the cage I made for my camera. It is held in place by two hidden screws. The chain is welded to the cage. The two ends of the chain wrap around the tree where two padlocks are used to lock the chain and the hinged door.

I like your design....I think it would be a little more portable than the one I built.

I used mine all season and either it was not detected or it served its purpose.

I love the designs, but again its only gonna stop a thief that gets bored easy...

it only takes a 20 dollar pair of bolt cutters to get all of those off that tree :P If the thief doesnt have the bolt cutters, then he can destory the whole camera bascially with a stick :P

but someone's just gonna see them.. think hmmmm.. let me go home and get my bolt cutters and come back :P

I thought about locks and etc on mine but if someone's gonna get it, they will

How about ingeniously incorporating a #3 jump trap near the lock mechanism? Probably have a hell of a time getting a grip on them bolt cutters after busting a couple fingers hooking the jaws in the right place.
Easily done! I saw it on a camera used to view bear. Frigging bear bite it and lose a couple teeth.
