the stock firebolt inserts are shorter than the laser 2 inserts. what you'll probably find is that the brass inserts fit good until about the last .25 inch then it will hit the excess glue inside the shaft. what i did was stick the end of the shaft with the brass insert in a pot of boiling water to soften the glue inside the shaft. i then pressed down real hard to force the brass insert all the way in.
