Bolt weight Question(s)

Post by houndogger »

With all the different weight bolts and heads and the many combintaions, Am wondering if my setup could be better?
175lb Exocet Mag limbs/FFF String
20 inch Gold tip laser II's @ 265 grains average (aluminum inserts)
130 grain wasp camlocks

So thats 395 grains average

What would the kenetic energy be on these bolts?
What is the desired kenetic energy for whitetails only?

These have worked well just wonder if there is something better?

Thanks

This might help to calculate KE:

I see no problem with your tried and proven combination for deer. Thats plenty of KE for whitails.

I see nothing wrong with that setup.. I use 100grain heads on a similair setup and get pass throughs every shot. Just try not to overthink your setup and pick it to death. If its working, dont fix it;)
