All these crossbow debates sometimes get to me.
I try to stay calm but the redneck comes out sometimes and I get my dandruff up.

Why in HELL does anyone spend their time and brain power worrying about what weapon I choose to shoot a deer with.
If I want to hunt with a rock that is my business.
I feel sorry for those who would exclude anyone from hunting.
Just stupid.

I think we should ban hunters who drive Ford's or those with black hair,Bald folks cannot hunt anywhere in the world.
If your name starts with a "D" you can only hunt on days that start with the letter "T" and then you must have one hand tied behind your back.
Those who choose trad bows cannot use any modern equipment,including your car or truck,you must wear buckskins from a deer killed by you with a knife that you made from knapping flint,that knife is to be no more that 4" in length and the deer can only be killed on a Monday after 3 pm.
Only left handed hunters allowed and they must be over 6'7" tall and have to shoot right handed.
All vertical bows must be shot in a horizontal configuration and carried in the woods as such so you can see how easy it is for me to move and kill hundreds of deer with this killing machine.
Hell,I don't even have to leave the house,I just shoot on in the air and it kills a deer everytime then the internal gps system sends the location to my cell phone and I go gather my prize.

Most vert bow shooters welcome new technology when it is in THEIR intrest.
I want them all to truly go back to the roots of bowhunting and accept NO technology and lets see you then.

Should I go on?

P.S. To my brothers out there who would exclude me from hunting with the weapon of my LEGAL choice or method.
I am here for you and will fight side by side with you to protect our right to hunt regardless of what weapon you choose or how you feel about mine or my choice

As far as I'm concerned, it's UN-AMERICAN to try and restrict or prohibit anyone's legal right to hunt with their weapon of choice! **

If it's legal in your area and you like to do it, I'm behind you!

We'd all better learn to stick together, or we're gonna fall together!

sax, most of the anti xbow guys think that all of us just by them because its easier to bow hunt and doesnt take as much skill. I can shoot my compound far better from free hand than my xbow so accuracy isnt a issue. Just like in every sport, its a few that give it a bad name. Its those with xbows that take 75 yard shots at deer which make all of look bad.

but like you said, its like saying all those that drive fords should be banned from driving since Chevy is the only way to go

we should ban all compound bows and go back to recurves or longbows

btw, if someone badmouths your for your xbow, just say, atleast im shooting a recurve. Whats your excuse for needing a compound

I recently made the mistake of trying to argue in favor of crossbows in a trad forum.
The moderator posted they aren't bows, and I responded with:

Then why is it called a cross BOW??????????
It's simply a bow mounted on a shoulder stock with a catch (built-in release) to hold it at full draw isn't it?
It's still a "stick and string" a BOW! We've just modified the way it's held. It uses the power stored in it's limbs by our putting it there (drawing it) to launch an arrow. No chemical reaction or explosive forces to propel the arrow, just a matter of energy being transferred through physical applications.

His response:

The fact of the matter is a crossbow is not a bow, it's a primitive weapon.

My conclusion:
You can't educate an idiot!

ANCIENT CROSSBOW

... and as far as I'm concerned, the crossbow stands in it's own right, historically and otherwise!
