Spring Around The Corner?
Today I saw a Common Merganser in flight. I think he was lost but could spring really be close at hand? Anyone else see signs pointing this way?

I LOVE the spring. I am getting my trapping lisence again this year as for the past 20+ years of not, my nose has told me I should be out in the field watching the spring come in. Can't wait. I hope it also gets me leads into hunting permission also

mergansers stay along the rivers eg.thames in winter so really not a sign, but the last few days I have heard cardinals singing, fri I heard and saw a robin.a friend of mine saw a bright yellow gold finch at her feeder, the yellow ones are migratory.there are a lot of boreal forest birds feeding in S.ont pine siskins.pine grosbeaks.crossbills,so tmes must be tough up north.not to wory only 2 more mos.of winter weather.

I only live 1 hr North east of London. 20 minutes south of Listowel. I normally see Mergansers at spring thaw. With this warm weather this week it might be a sign.
