Lets see your turkey medicine!

Post by Pydpiper »

I like to start off with my shotgun, I have spent a lot of time and money going through all the different shells and chokes to find that one sweet combination.
This is my Frankenstein 870 Express, I bought and gutted a 60's Wingmaster and slapped all the good stuff in to this Express, it is smooth as glass and I love the camo! The gun likes Winchester turkey loads, both #5 and #6. I use an Undertaker choke and get devastating results!
This year I want to take bird #2 with a recurve, and if that doesn't pan out I will switch to my Exocet, I made 6 arrows last year with 2" camo blazers that I have all the confidence in the world in for a neck shot out to 45 yards with Slicks and a grappler.

Tonight my girls and I dug through the safe and found the choke as well as the red dot I had so much luck with last year. My slates are sanded down, the turkey vest is ready to be loaded up and the reeds are sounding as good as always.
I can hear my wife cringing from here, I make a lot of noise around the house in turkey season. :D
What are you shooting?

The one on the bottom - but I switch the stocks and put the camo one on it for turkey hunting. (sorry I don't have a better pic, but I'm waiting on my new camera to arrive  )

A T/C NewEnglander 12ga equipped with a 209 primer adapter, and I have a .660 choke tube for turkey hunting. It is also equipped with a "ghost ring" aperture sight and a f/o front bead for better aiming.
(the one on top is a .50 cal)
