Better late then never

Post by Maritimer »

I thought I would share some pictures of my 2008 hunting season. There are no whitetails on Vancouver island, we only have blacktails a sub species of the mule deer. For the first 2 pictures I forgot the camera at home.

Second buck harvested with Phoenix

Third buck harvested with shotgun

Cow Elk was harvested at 30 yards with the phoenix.

Looking forward to next hunting season.

Mike J , I usually hunt moose but I did not hunt them this year. Elk is a limited entry hunt so I decided to put all my effort towards harvesting a Elk, so this is first time that I ever hunted for them. I always heard that Elk tasted as good as moose and to some people it tastes even better. I had Elk stakes last night for supper and I have to admit my family and I enjoyed the taste of Elk more.

roly the blacktails here on Vancouver Island are not huge, I believe the bucks can weight up to 160, 170 pounds. They are excellent eating almost as good as moose.

smokepolehall I really like the black and white photographs. That is a nice fork where did you harvest him.
