My Personal Mission...

Post by VixChix »

I'm posting this because of the "gun list" discussion going on in the "other topics" section.

Some of you know that I'm on a personal mission to introduce as many people who are anti-gun or overly-influenced by the media's image of firearms to the joys of shooting. I regularly put out an open invitation for people to join me at the range where they can observe the safe and correct handling of a firearm. If they would like to, they can also try shooting - starting with a .22 and progressing to something with a bit more bang if they want to. I also bring my PSE Nova and my Vixen along to help then understand the difference how much fun it is to fling arrows into a target.

Here a woman posted on her blog about her experience at the range with us last week: home on the range

I strongly believe in taking every opportunity to share our pastime with others to further a greater understanding of firearms. Each person who moves from "anti" to "understanding" will help carry the flag for us when it comes to discussions about firearms. The more people who understand, the less will accept the media's slant without question.

It would be great if this year each of us could take one "anti" to the range and show them the joys of recreational gun ownership!

Now that is cool.

I had a simular story with my daughter a few years back. A teacher brain washed her at a young age. Needless to say she has her hunting and PAL tags and made fist kill last season. Damm she shoots better than the old man and the son-in-law to be.

Good job ... take em down one at a time.

Wait guys!
This isn't about me!!! It's about all of us!
Grab your nearest anti (in the nicest way) and head for the range.
Be prepared to do more watching than shooting yourself once they figure out it's FUN. :D
It's very gratifying.

Believe it or not, Vix, anti-gunners are very hard to find around here (Tyrrell County)!

Ain't that neat? :D

So are ranges ... most of us just step out the door and cut loose! :P

Very cool, Grizz. You are fortunate!

In our area we are surrounded... no shortage of antis here.

I beg to differ young lady. I think it is all about you.

It is about you showing us through deeds what good one person can do regarding the image of firearms and hunters.

Leading by example is leadership of the highest form.

And you are to be commended.

Same in these parts. If a certain amount of shooting isn't heard coming from your property, they think maybe you're ill or something else is wrong.

We all like our guns!! :D
